LOWELL GIRLS LACROSSE '23 SEASON FAQs

 

Who is eligible to play and how are teams comprised?

Lowell Girls Lacrosse welcomes girls in grades K - 8 from Lowell and surrounding towns. Girls are assigned to teams based on their grade level:

  • ​U8: grades K - 2
  • U10: grades 3 & 4
  • U12: grades 5 & 6
  • U14: grades 7 & 8
     

When does the '23 season start and what are the player's committment?

  • We ask players do their best to attend all practices and games throughout the season. Fielding teams for games is 100% dependent on players showing up. If Sunday games conflict with other teams/activities your player is involved in, we respectfully request you consider saving the limited team spot for another player. We understand conflicts occur every now and again but appreciate everyone doing their best to consider conflicts before signing up. '23 season game dates are listed below.
  • U8 & U10 teams typically practice 1x/week; U12 & U14 practice 2xs/week.
  • Indoor Practices begin in February and move outdoors in April. Days & times, TBD.

     

When are games held?

  • Games for all teams are Sundays April 2, 16, 23, 30 May 7, 14, 21, June 4
  • ​League-wide Jamboree: TBD

​Is there a tryout?

There is no tryout. The girls are placed on teams based on their age; all girls play and all are welcome! 
 

What equipment do players need?

  • All girls are required to have stick, eye goggles, and a mouth guard (the mouth guard can't be clear).
  • Each NEW player receives a FREE stick and eye goggles when they signup.
  • NEW players also receive a FREE uniform.
     

How much does it cost to play?

  • ​The total fee to register your player for the season is $200 (maximum of $350 per family):
    • $160 - Lowell Girls Lacrosse League Fee
    • $40 - Mass Youth Lax League Fee
       

What does the cost cover?

  • New player equipment and uniforms - uniform fittings & equipment pick up takes place in January
  • Equipment (balls, nets) needed to support the program
  • Referee costs
  • All fees for field/gym/ use from January through June
  • Education and training programs for coaches
  • Team Registrations and Jamborees
     

What if a returning player has part of the uniform that no longer fits?

  • Returning players will be able to purchase uniform pieces a la carte from our uniform vendor.  Stay tuned!
